-34 J80 SPAIN COPA AMERICA

The next edition of the Copa begins to look good. We are managing information and very slowly "cooked", but the truth is that seems to really be a revolution in the world of sailing.

According to the organization there are fourteen teams two French, two Italian, one Chinese, one Korean, one Swedish, one Australian, one New Zealander, four have not revealed his name, and the defender Oracle. It seems to me too, I see only solid Oracle, Team New Zealand and Artemis, though I imagine that the Chinese will have money for it and they will. Mascalzone challenger has since retired, and the investment for this Cup will be brutal. Since the first edition with these boats, everything is new, you can not buy a second hand boat to learn and draw conclusions. This means more new designs, more testing, more breaks, ultimately, more money and effort.

The first part of the competition, previous to the AC 45 will be very interesting, another thing will come to see how to get an AC72. A boat nearly twice as large loads means multiplying exponentially, the calculations are very complex, construction very complicated, and then you have to put them to navigate. If we have seen at 45 quite easily tumble to tame a beast of these with the winds usually blow in San Francisco appears too complicated.

Where are giving organizers the corn is in terms of incorporating new technologies into the organization and relay races. The juris equipped with all possible systems. Will blow their whistles away almost in front of computers that will go singing commitments, positions of the boats etc ... Will have to change some rules in their application to these races because the boats are so quick to judge the actions in some cases with the current rules is impossible. A curious fact, boats that are both juris water go jet skiing.

ships carry cameras everywhere imaginable and tables of performance are as in games football. It will be a great show and a great innovation for our sport. From August to the first test takes place in Portugal, we can draw conclusions about the innovations, but the first thing to be seen is how many teams make it to the first season trip to San Francisco.

Interesting video about the new Cup organization and technology in it.

Last week I spent a few days in Palma de Mallorca Spain Cup racing with friends Ricardo, Alfredo, Lai and local signing Jordi Dood. It was a championship pretty good from the standpoint of participation and organization. Fortyfive us aboard-a fly in my soup, we started very well but then we were losing steam. The other crew Canaria, Hotel Princesa Yaiza-Cicar, more accustomed the laurels of success, was unable to materialize a good tournament because they played a very slow boat that allowed them to stay up despite the quality of all its crew.

Lai, Alfredito, Richard and John, good equipment and good championship with them.
Rayco uploaded to the bottom of his boat trying to get it ready. The ship was not and paid dearly.
Besides the race itself was a good opportunity to check the health of J80 class in Spain. The very good health. In the championship with 28 ships of Santander, Santiago de la Ribera, Mallorca, Barcelona, Cambrils, Balís, Valencia and Lanzarote, and the classroom environment is really good. The J80 has curdled, and it has in some very difficult times. In the end it has been shown that the class was an excellent decision, and has replaced another as the Platú 25.

Many boats in the ferry returning from Palma to Barcelona. So glad, how easy!, Hook the boat and go from side to side. Like a snipe.

J80 This year the national races than classical, Cup and Championship of Spain, has been listed as one-design class in the Copa del Rey regatta in capital letters. Speaking with officials of the Real Club Náutico de Palma, organizers of the King's Cup this year will be limited (yes, be limited, to get an idea of the forecast) to 40 ships, and acceptance criteria will be sporting curriculum.
fleet returning to the Real Club Nautico de Palma after the second day

is a pride for the island of Lanzarote fleet, and for me as one of the promoters, and promoter of this model boat, get the very good choice we made at the time with the boat. Meets all that we demand a little over five years, and many others have seen and joined. The first ship arrived in Lanzarote was the GMT 735, and Palma had a 1340 BST, almost nothing in five and a half years and above with which it has fallen. When I see this I remember the "ready" importer of J80 in Spain, Don Pedro Egea, who never believed in the operation of Lanzarote. There were only two units in Barcelona at the time, and lost a sale of thirty-five in Lanzarote because he thought it was not possible, which we took the final hair and buy directly from the factory. What a guy!

PALMA DE MALLORCA SPAIN J80-DAY 2

complicated race day in the Bay of Palma.

Today was a very difficult day for everyone in the Cup of Spain J80. Three tests with different conditions. The wind has been very complicated, ongoing roles, wells, and without much order. Those who were more ready and went to the caring role on the left were those who sent in all three races.

greatly surprised me is Carlos Espinosa Iurisnautic Juanlu Serra at the helm . Very solid, they are always ahead of the fleet with good speed and very good starts. They have some new sails for the class of Banks who paint beautifully. Carlos Martinez and his Mapfre not surprising since they have a great track record, but it is surprising to see the ability to finish consistently among the best as they come out. The can see the 20 two minutes after the start, but always get up there. A Rayco lacks speed, the boat is not going and can not develop their full potential, so everything has something saved, a role nobody sees pressure for him there, a talent that keeps him near the top despite being with junk. Another strong team is the Turismo do Algarve Rocha Hugo Gonzalo Araujo at the helm. It goes very fast, and now the last race showed off dramatically. Went offline, turned around the viewer, left behind the entire fleet, and after dodging two tacks well, rode first on the windward side to win the race. Rayco reminded me in her good days in Lanzarote.

The rest of the fleet is good until the tenth, twentieth and right to loose the rest, but the top six are very good. Juan Luis, Hugo, and Gonzalo, Rayco, Carlos Martínez, Nacho Way, Van der Ploeg, make the first posts are very hard. We see that the class is starting to get serious. The teams are very thorough and trained. In all the leading crews are familiar names, medals, world, etc ... comprises shipboard functions. Cruise will sail as a cane and tactical driving.

three more tests tomorrow if time permits. The bad part is, little wind and from all directions. Three crews will play the championship by four points. The outcome tomorrow at 12:: 00h.

Note official organization.

struggle between the top three overall.
Day very technical.

The second round of the Cup in Spain was held today in the waters of the bay of Palma. If the first day the wind was generous in the second has been a little more lazy and capricious, because the general instability of the front across the peninsula and has arrived in Palma.

began
blowing from the northeast to go changing direction to the southeast where he remained engaged. This has allowed the day has been mostly technical and very tactical, where the top crews are shining examples.

The first output was at 13.05, and the Committee had to make two changes of course by the instability of wind, and that was more -14 knots at least -10 -. Since the output TURISMO DO ALGARVE with the Portuguese tactician Hugo Rocha and Galician Gonzalo Araujo at the helm, were able to take full advantage of the conditions and sign a brilliant victory. The second place IURISNAUTIC Carlos Espinosa showed that the lead in the opening day was not a gift and that they were still in the fight. The third position of MAPFRE, placed the winner of the recently held PalmaVela Mapfre race on the podium.

was important no more mistakes as in the day, was discarding the worst result and some had to leave a good ballast result of puncture points made.

At 14.50 the committee gave out the second test, and siding with the southeast wind of 10 knots. Departure and race without problems and MAPFRE display of Murcia Carlos Martinez also made clear that the outsider would be important to ultimate victory. The second was the local OPERA SEASON, the third Spaniard NEXTEL ENGINEERING world champion Ignacio Camino while leading IURISNAUTIC hitherto could only be the third, yielding momentáneamente el liderato por solo un punto al MAPFRE.

Puncture on this occasion for MAPFRE could only sixth.

With these figures, and after six races held, the overall IURISNAUTIC was commanded by a total of 12 points, with second place for the MAPFRE with 15, the third for 16-TURISMO DO ALGARVE , and the fourth ship is the world champion and Lanzarote Hotel Princesa Yaiza but with 26 points, and the fifth for the other world champion Spaniard NEXTEL ENGINEERING.

Thus it appears that Sunday morning has a passionate sports day because victory is the need to fight the top three separated by 3 and 1 points respectively, but we can not rule out any other competitor. Although IURISNAUTIC and still can afford a slip as their worst result is discarded sixth place, although it is not advisable.

Overall standings (after 6 events)

1 º IURISNAUTIC - Club de Mar Mallorca - 12 points
2 º MAPFRE - RCR Santiago de la Ribera - 15 points
3 º TOURISM DO ALGARVE - CN Cambrils - 16 points 4 th
Princesa Yaiza - RCN Arrecife - 26 points
5 º NEXTEL ENGINEERING - RCM Santander - 31 points

LANZAROTE. ISLAND RACING LEAGUE III. CAFE DEL PUERTO Trophy. CASTAÑON

Marina Rubicón II gana el trofeo Café del Puerto. El fuerte viento protagonista de la regata.

Marina Rubicón II con David Caraballo, Augusto Escolar, Josito González y Rafael Lasso.

With boundary conditions was held last Saturday's third round of the League island Lanzarote J80 2011.

The party on Saturday was hard to foresee conditions for the third race of the season. While it was not windy, around 20 knots, wind direction presaged a difficult day, because in the Playa Quemada westbound, wind down the ravines acelarado and very gusty. The race course was presented complicated by the intensity of wind and continuing roles. In the first part of the race the wind swung more than 30 degrees from right to left until after the first beat veered those 20 or 30 degrees right and remained in that direction with many changes of intensity. The committee had readings of over 30 knots, there are always a lot more intensity in windward leeward.

The TGA Advisors Leonardo Arms flying aft. He finished 5 th the trophy.

18 boats started the race I was pretty encouraged by the committee. The fleet went very compact, alternating positions as head rolled to one side or another. At the end of the first beat, the wind shifted far to right and the boats on that side came first in the offset. First mounted Rubicon Aythami I Quintana, but what touched buoy was penalized and lost the first position. Featured in the group mounted the Hotel Princess Yaiza, the squat, Ikos, Jolatero and Amuru, close together and near all the peloton. From there began the show.

genaker The hoisting was the most critical moment of the race. Vessels mounted first, only the Princess Yaiza, Okupa and Marina Rubicon II were able to raise and jibe, the rest had many problems with the maneuver. It was spectacular to see seven or more boats genaker singing with flying completely out of control. The first stern went the same way, many luff and galletazo. The boats that managed to "tame" the conditions are highlighted. The Okupa Alfredo Gonzalez sailed well, but could not keep genaker lifted by the halyard problems that made you lower the sail. The Hotel Princesa Yaiza this time helmed by Nano Negrin mounted downwind first, followed at some distance from the Marina Rubicon II Rafael lasso and much more behind the Okupa Alfredo González. Behind them a group of four boats with whale museum, Suragua, Ikos and Amura in that order and close together.

Hotel Princesa Yaiza Falero with Domingo, Jose Cedrés, Oliver Herrera, Alejandro and Nano Negrin riding the leeward mark to start the second beat, followed by the Marina Rubicon II, squats, and Ikos whale museum.
The second beat was almost a board. Ships lasted a little port and then board a long board to windward. Hotel Princesa Yaiza leader of Nano Negrin turned around after the float lengths, extending a little more the Marina Rubicon II Rafael Lasso. The Okupa quickly turned to starboard leaving much to leeward. The position upwind of Marina Rubicon II allowed more wind goger right and walked more than its rivals, reaching the Hotel Princesa Yaiza mounted upwind with just a length ahead. Genaker rose leader in offset, waiting for the Marina Rubicon II a jibe at the second buoy and lift offset and port tack. This brought him to slip through the interior of the float and move to the Hotel Princess Yaiza. After browsing both towards goal, the Hotel Princesa Yaiza tried to take something from windward to try to go to Marina Rubicon II. When both sailing a few lengths, the Hotel Princesa Yaiza genaker exploded and its efforts to recover the head were in vain, as the Marina Rubicon II escaped genaker sailing until arriving at the finish line in first position. The chase group, led by Alfredo Gonzalez came with your Okupa. When he went to pass to windward at Hotel Princesa Yaiza that came with the approach, this will shut the hole and he did leave luff, prompting a protest from the Princesa Yaiza which ultimately disqualify the Okupa Alfredo and his team. In this circumstance Alfredo Morales took the whale museum to come in second place followed by the Hotel Princesa Yaiza who completed the podium.

Of the 18 ships, only ranked 13, with three retired, one of them, Mencey Loco, the club game. Two boats were disqualified, the said Okupa and Amura by an off-line.

Group B was won by Joaquín Medina followed the Altamar Catlanza Paco Curbelo.

In this race the fleet sailed with identical candles, but no conclusions could be drawn because the conditions were about survival.

LANZAROTE. ISLAND RACING LEAGUE III. CAFE DEL PUERTO Trophy. CASTAÑON

Marina Rubicón II gana el trofeo Café del Puerto. El fuerte viento protagonista de la regata.
